PharmacySouthern Regional AHEC Department of Pharmacy Continuing Education provides educational opportunities for regional pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and other interested health care professions. SR-AHEC cosponsors continuing education offerings and programs with the UNC-CH Eschelman School of Pharmacy. The Eschelman School of Pharmacy of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. SR-AHEC is proud to be a licensing partner for APhA's "The Pharmacist & Patient-Centered Diabetes Care" certificate training program (formerly known as "Pharmaceutical Care for Patients with Diabetes" certificate training program). This nationally recognized program is an innovative and intensive certificate program that focuses on the pharmacist's role in the area of diabetes management. The program, which emphasizes a health care team approach, seeks to foster the implementation of pharmaceutical care interventions that will promote disease self-management.
