You can go anywhere from here...but we'd like you to stay!

► Family Medicine Residency - Duke/Southern Regional AHEC Family Medicine Residency Program operates a model family practice, The Family Medicine Center, where residents, faculty and staff are organized into teams responsible for patient health. Each team has nine examining rooms, a faculty office with a nursing station and a dictation room. Leading each team is a full-time faculty family physician who is available for advice and instruction. We are the first Family Medicine Residency Program in North Carolina to be dually accredited by the ACGME and the AOA.

If you are a medical student interested in family medicine and looking for a residency program that’s a great place to work and grow, you've found it! Find out more through our residency recruitment site designed specifically for you:

► Pharmacy Residency - If you are a graduate of pharmacy school looking for a residency that provides specialized skills needed to become an excellent clinician, you've found it! The PGY1 residency at the Southern Regional AHEC and Cape Fear Valley Health System will be competent and confident in the management of medication therapy for various disease states. Residency graduates learn advanced skills as a clinician and an educator, while working with patients and other health care professionals in inpatient and ambulatory care settings.

Our residents work together as a team and are involved with patients in a variety of ways. From obstetrics rotations to providing medication reviews to geriatric patients, family medicine and pharmacy residents are the cornerstone of care for all of our clinical settings.
