MD/DO Students

Allopathic, osteopathic and other health sciences students are supported through the ORPCE. This office provides housing for students and facilitates clinical experiences in the nine county region. Students also have the opportunity to learn from Duke appointed Southern Regional AHEC faculty through lectures and hands-on training.

Students have been impressed with the diversity of the patient population during their rotations. SR-AHEC has become the number one requested rotation for students at the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Third and fourth year students fulfilled their rotation requirements in our region for over five years.
